All sessions start with an assessment, this is to ensure you get the best personalized treatment.
An assessment can be as simple as a few specific questions or perform simple body movements to a health history or even using world recognized assessment tools such as SCOAT6/SCAT6 or ACSM guidelines for chronic issues.

Remedial Massage

Massage is and always has been a primary part of the first stage of rehab, its use for palpating muscles and joints, examining range of movement and pain levels is key to understanding an injury or body imbalance

Massage is more than just a tool for examination though as it helps to calm the nervous system, relax muscles and regulate hormone levels.

Massage is used to reduce stress and help increase recovery while also enabling better body movements and joint function.

Rehabilitation Exercise

Rehabilitation Exercise is an essential part of the recovery from injury journey, the concept of "use it or loose it" has great relevance with injuries where the body has to remap what muscles are available to cope with movement during an injury.

With rehabilitative exercises we are not talking about heavy weights and long sweaty sessions, but focusing on getting specific muscles to work when required.
This it to ensure proper joint stability and balance, which is the foundation to enable progressive resistance training safely.

Ridged, K and Lymphatic Taping

The three forms of taping have different functions.
Ridged taping involves a solid tape that is mainly used to stabilize or reduce joint movement, this is often used to help stabilize joints like rolled ankles or reduce movement after muscle tears such as Achilles/calf tears by limiting the range of movement.

K taping is a soft tape that has a little stretch, this is used to help with muscle movement by helping reduce the load on the muscle. It can also be used as a gentle reminder to the nervous system creating a signal that the brain picks up on and either tensions or relaxes muscles depending on its application.

Lymphatic taping is the use of K-tape to create areas of low and high pressure that help move a build up of lymph fluid from one part of the body to another, where it can then return to the heart and continue to be moved around the body.

Sports Medic

A Sports Medic can be found at the sidelines of most sporting events, they are the ones who quickly asses and provide prompt medical first aid to athlete's before passing them onto a physio or ambulance if needed.
Their quick acute injury assessment skills, understand of sports and sport related injuries are invaluable to the speedy recovery of the athlete, as well as being able to get them off field in a safe manner to allow the sport to continue without interruption.
